Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.
For this year’s Week of Giving, our chapter is brought a guest speaker to SU in hopes of helping our campus community! Ellie Herman, an Albright alumnae, came to Faylor Hall to talk about not only eating disorders but also the signs of stress! Hearing her story helped us learn how to help the people we love that may be having a hard time!
The B+ Dance-A-Thon was a 12 hour event on November 3rd, 2018 with sorority and fraternity members from all organizations present. The B+ foundation donates money to finding a cure for childhood cancer and our university raised over $8000!
Fall fest is a great annual tradition that Sigma Kappa plans as a fundraising event. Pumpkin painting, face painting, yard games and a petting zoo were all provided at the Sigma Kappa house's backyard! Sigma Kappa and Phi Mu Delta used ticket sales to raise money for Alzheimer's association and Phi Mu Delta's main philanthropy. Fall fest fell on October 20th, 2018 and was a success!
Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's
Every year, our chapter fundraises and walks at a local Walk to End Alzheimer's event in Bloomsburg, PA. This year, the walk took place on September 15, 2018. Alzheimer's is one of Sigma Kappa's philanthropies so this event is very near and dear to our hearts!
